Below is a list of various support groups located throughout the Lower Mainland for individuals with brain injury, family members and caregivers. Support groups provide a safe and comfortable setting for members to discuss their concerns in confidentiality. The benefits of a support group may include:
- Mutual support and understanding
- Discuss commonalities and know that you are not alone
- Reduce isolation
- Increase self-confidence
- Build friendships
- Access to professional or expert advice from guest speakers
- Share coping strategies and community resource information
